We now supply four different types of machines, vertical, LENCO (American Machine) with the renowned easy to use lenco software, The machine pictured above is not a Chinese machine it is in fact a Taiwanese, which does make a big difference, all electrical components are quality, I. Schneider contactors which can be bought from UK companies off the shelf, so no worries about obtaining parts. Because we have supplied multiples of these machines across the UK and Europe we understand the level of support that you will need depending on which machine from the range best suits your budget and application. This is potentially dangerous and can be a very costly mistake due to the machines being fitted with a’L’ shaped Jaw not the soft’Z’ jaws which basically means the wheels could come out of the chuck at high speeds and can potentially cause fatal injuries. Also the machine should be fitted with an interlock or a magnetic switch to make sure the chuck breaks once the canopy is open. This is just a basic safety operation but some of the machine we have seen recently have not had these on so therefore the canopy can be open when the chuck is spinning at anywhere up to 650 revolutions per minute. As we supply four different machines we are not bias to one machine we like to spend the time with people and understand exactly what there needs are before recommending the correct machine from our range to suit each individuals budget. We have seen recently other companies that are trying to jump onto the bandwagon so to speak, with a supposedly faster touch screen control, these systems have not been proven and are very complicated to use and are only provided with a 2 day training package which is not long enough. Based on our experience you need at least one week on site training at one of our existing customers who are cutting live customer wheels and then at least 2 weeks practising these skills before entering the market place or quite simply upgrade to the better more expensive lenco software operation which is quick to learn. Not sure if you have considered purchasing a Hydro Blaster from Blast Wash but you should give it some thought as its been the best 10k spent this year having reduced my preparation of Cut & Lacquer diamond cut wheels from four hours to one hour, vehicle in and lathe ready in 60 minutes per set. Previously wed wash and hand scotch the wheels taking up to an hour per wheel to get it lathe ready now its 15/20 minutes per wheel. As so many of the wheels we do are off new or nearly new vehicles we do have lots that are in mint condition apart from the curbing, so ideal for a Cut & Lacquer and the Hydro Blaster does a fantastic job of cleaning and keying the wheel ready for cutting without damaging or chipping the current coating. The Hydro Blaster can also be used on stripped wheels leaving a perfect undamaged alloy which needs no bench prep apart from curbing damage so if curbing damage is done first the wheel can be oven ready in 15 minutes, just needs a blow dry and hung ready for the oven. We use a lot on undamaged, colour change wheels and is less damaging than shot blasting at lower pressure, with no risk of lacquer chipping, so again I can have new/undamaged wheels oven ready in less than 60 minutes so theoretical could have a car in and out in four hours, start to finish. Having the second Hydro Blaster working alongside the Shot Blaster means Im now in a position to have more sets waiting for the oven cycle than can be powder coated so currently working on having 3 sets in the oven at once, two sets on heat up while the first set is being powder coated with sets waiting outside ready for the next warm up. Once I get all the routines in place I will be in a position to offer a one day turnaround on Diamond Cut wheels where a Cut & Lacquer is appropriate making additional space available in the workshop for more vehicles if theyre only in for one day instead of two. I was told when I have the lathe youll only ever do 3 sets a day, well this week we achieve 5 sets of Diamond Cut in one day. Give it some thought, you wont regret it.
